Accuracy

Depth first, calibration when needed

On supported iPhones, the back camera uses ARKit/LiDAR scene depth for real-world estimates. Front-camera and non-depth measurements use calibration from a known hand length. Measurements are estimates and are not a certified ruler, medical device, or diagnostic tool.

Uses ARKit/LiDAR depth by default on supported back cameras.
Supports front-camera fallback with calibration.
Tap the camera preview to freeze or resume a measurement frame.
Camera frames are processed on device.
